Day of Commencement
When
May 12, 2022
Line-up: 5 p.m.
Commencement ceremony: 6 p.m. (Note: Petition said 6:30 p.m.)
Where
Secrest Auditorium
334 Shinnick St.
Zanesville, OH 43701
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our annual Commencement in-person at Secrest Auditorium. For family and friends unable to attend, tune back in to this page for a Facebook Live Stream.
The construction on I-70 is ongoing. You can stay up-to-date on the I-70 construction and ramp closures here.
Arrival Time and Line-up
You should arrive at Secrest Auditorium at 5 p.m. and proceed directly to the check-in area at the Shinnick Street door. Here you will pick up your reader card. When it’s time to line up, graduates will be divided into three groups:
- Division of Business, Engineering, and Information Technology
- Division of Health and Public Service
- Division of Arts and Sciences
Look for signage for where you need to stand. We will have assistants on site for any questions. If you are getting two or more degrees, choose which division you prefer. You will be able to sit with your friends and you will shake hands with a division dean when you walk across the stage.
After Commencement
Following Commencement, graduates will have the opportunity to participate in a favored tradition: The Graduation Gauntlet. You will walk through a celebration tunnel where faculty and staff applaud and cheer. The Graduation Gauntlet, along with photo opportunities, will take place in the lobby of Secrest Auditorium immediately following the ceremony. This will conclude your special day.
Dinner for Graduates
We are developing a list of restaurants that are participating in Grad Specials following Commencement! Check back for additions:
Old Market House Inn
Graduates dining with their family of 4 or more in our dining room will receive a free meal up to $25!
Urban Comforts
Urban Comforts will offer grads and their families 15-percent off their meals following Commencement Day!
After Graduation
Receiving Your Diploma
Your graduation requirements will be reviewed and verified by the Registrar at the end of the semester when all grades have been finalized. Diplomas and certificates will be mailed to graduates with no account hold approximately six to eight weeks after the end of the graduation term to the address on file. Multiple attempts to mail diplomas will not be made; diplomas returned by the post office will need to be picked up in person at the Registrar’s Office.
Note: Students are not official graduates until the successful completion of the graduating term. An official transcript from the College is the official testimony of a conferred degree.
Completing the Grad Survey
The Final Destination Survey asks about your future plans. This information is used to evaluate the career readiness policies and procedures at ZSC. All participants are eligible to win an Apple iPad! Take the survey here.
